Càrn Mòr Celebration of the Cask Aultmore 28 Year Old 1993 Cask #4434 47.4% ABV
A wonderful and well-aged Aultmore here from independent bottler Càrn Mòr. The Speyside distillery is known for being pretty fragrant, and this release is as authentic as it gets. Non-chill filtered and bottled with no added colour, this ex-bourbon hogshead-matured dram lets the distillery character shine through. Just 233 bottles were released globally, so get it while you can.
Nose: Soft, smooth, fruity notes and dried banana with some spiced pears and green grapes. Ginger and soft oak spices come through later.
Palate: A nicely balanced opening on the palate, some peach and pineapple, then candied citrus fruits and vanilla. Honey-coated cereal bar arrives later, with a some sweet toasted fruit cake and flaked almond.
Finish: Lingering and smooth with more of that honey.
