テルモント

(0 製品)

Telmont is a historic Champagne house with a forward-looking vision, combining over a century of winemaking heritage with one of the most ambitious sustainability programmes in the industry. Founded in 1912 in Damery, near Épernay, by Henri Lhôpital, Telmont has built a reputation for producing terroir-driven Champagnes of elegance and purity. Now under majority ownership of Rémy Cointreau, Telmont is redefining what it means to make fine Champagne in harmony with nature.

A Century of Craft

Henri Lhôpital established the house during a time of great change in Champagne, just as the region was recovering from the devastation of phylloxera. Over the decades, Telmont remained family-owned, passing down traditional vineyard practices and cellar expertise through generations. Its style has always favoured precision, freshness, and a clear expression of its vineyard origins, with most grapes coming from its own estate and long-term grower partners.

Commitment to Sustainability

In 2021, Telmont announced its “In the Name of Mother Nature” project — a roadmap to making the entire estate and all partner vineyards fully organic by 2031. This includes:
• Converting all vineyards to organic agriculture and banning synthetic pesticides and herbicides.
• Eliminating outer packaging (no gift boxes for non-vintage cuvées).
• Switching to lighter glass bottles to reduce carbon footprint.
• Transitioning to 100% renewable energy in production.
• Moving toward climate-positive operations by reducing emissions and offsetting the remainder.

The house is already certified for organic farming on a significant proportion of its own vineyards, a rare achievement in Champagne.

Winemaking and Style

Telmont’s Champagnes are crafted with meticulous attention to detail:
• Grape Varieties - primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
• Vinification - both stainless steel and oak are used, depending on the cuvée, to preserve freshness while adding complexity.
• Dosage - generally modest, allowing the natural character of the fruit to shine.
• Aging - extended lees contact, often well beyond the legal minimums, builds texture and depth.

The result is a style marked by bright acidity, fine mousse, and layered aromas - citrus and green apple in the fresher cuvées, brioche and dried fruit in the longer-aged expressions.

A Champagne for the Future

Telmont’s dual identity, rooted in tradition yet boldly innovative in its environmental goals, is attracting attention from Champagne lovers and sustainability-minded consumers alike. Even Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has invested in the brand, drawn by its ecological mission.
