Accessibility Guide

The objective of this accessibility statement is to provide you with as much detail about our venues as possible. We want you, your friends and your family to make an informed decision about joining us in view of your own individual requirements.

Milroy’s is London’s oldest independent whisky specialist, and The Vault is our subterranean cocktail bar. Whether you’re looking to buy a bottle to take away or sit down with friends over a drink, our expert team are here to help. The objective of this accessibility statement is to provide you with as much detail about our venues as possible. We want you, your friends and your family to make an informed decision about joining us in view of your own individual requirements.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout Milroy’s and The Vault, and water bowls can be provided on request. Please do not hesitate to contact us on (+44)2081060630) and select option 1 to speak to the bar or email soho@moilroys.co.uk to discuss your individual requirements.

Toilets

There are two gender-neutral toilets in the venue, one at street level at the rear of Milroy’s accessible up one step, and another below ground at The Vault. Both have narrow doors. The toilet at the rear of Milroy’s is accessed ‘through the bookcase’, the bookcase being a heavy ‘push’ door that weighs approximately 15kg. Our team are happy to help if you need assistance using the door.

With that in mind, it is generally sensible to pack for all conditions. I’ve seen snow in winter (although it is rare!) and sustained sunburn in May. If luggage capacity permits, I suggest packing more layers than you think you’ll need. Take decent shoes with grip, and, of course, waterproofs. As the outdoorsy among us say, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad preparation.

Hearing

Our fire alarm is a loud siren supported by emergency lights. We play medium-level background music both at Milroy’s and The Vault.

Visual

Visual Milroy’s is lit by natural light during the day through a large window at the front of the venue. During evenings and at night, the shop and bar is brightly lit. We don’t have a menu at Milroy’s. Bottles are displayed behind the bar, and our team is more than happy to assist or make recommendations. The Vault has low lighting, including on the stairs down into the bar. The space is predominantly lit by candlelight.
