Nose: A smooth and gentle nose even at cask strength, Pears and Dates, some citrus and vanilla with a touch of soft sea salt and toffee caramel, some rich coastal notes on the back end of the nose.
Nose: Cool and viscous, with a surprisingly mild mouthfeel and at first a sweet, minty-salty taste. A warming and enveloping mid palate with a touch of soft tangy citrus, packed with notes of resinous liquorice; clear honey, pine resin, salt and lemon. Mid-palate, fresh peach. and rich aniseed and soft lemon sorbet, a tangy spice takes us to a lingering rich late palate of milk and dark chocolate and a rich pungent Islay note as the dram finally heads to the finish.
