Stagg Bourbon 65.5% ABV
A rambunctious and bold straight bourbon whiskey from the team behind Buffalo Trace. Stagg enjoys almost a decade of maturation before being bottled unchillfiltered at a powerful 131 proof, or 65% ABV. It’s immensely sippable, but also works extraordinarily well in an Old Fashioned.
Tasting note:
Nose: Enormously bold with a real sweetness: caramel, milk chocolate, coconut and a rich rye spiciness all come through.
Palate: More fruit here, with red cherries and citrus alongside cloves and nutmeg. There’s a subtle smoke-like haze in there, too.
Finish: Immensely long, with more rye notes.
