Wire Works Whisky Double Oak Port 52.2% 

Derbyshire-based White Peak Distillery is back! This time it’s with a Wire Works Whisky Double Oak Port bottling, celebrating all that’s fruity – alongside a gentle waft of peat smoke. It was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels, giving a lovely balance to proceedings. A limited release of 1,321 bottles, it’s non-chill filtered and at natural colour. 

Nose: Rich, dark and chocolatey, with dark fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg and honey. There’s a hint of an earthy smokiness, too

Palate: Rich and mouth-filling with a gentle prickle of heat, there’s more dark chocolate along with figs, prunes and a smoky oak. 

Finish: Long and oaky with black pepper and a whisper of peat smoke.
