The Cardrona Growing Wings Solera 65.6% ABV
A beautiful Solera system whisky here all the way from Cardrona in New Zealand. It’s a blend of both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and part of the flavour-forward Growing Wings series. It’s available in 350ml bottles to make sure the limited liquid can go to as many whisky fans as possible.
Tasting note:
Nose: Inviting and fudge-like, along with vanilla, butter, shortbread, almonds and a fresh barley water.
Palate: More fruits: apples, sultanas, strawberries, blackcurrant jam, cream soda and an array of sweet cooking spices.
Finish: Medium length and gently warming, with a toasted pastry note.
