Kilkerran 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Strength 57.5%

A fabulous lightly peated Campbeltown single malt from the historical Scotch region. And it’s a 100% Sherry cask-matured delight! Kilkerran is made at the Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery, which reopened in 2004 after being closed in 1925. It’s been bottled at natural colour with no chill-filtration – and even at a robust 57.5% ABV it’s a joy to sip. 

Nose: Rich buttery almond and big red fruit notes dominate, with a bold, rubbery slightly roadwork-y smoke, too.

Palate: It’s all about the Christmas cake! There’s dried orange peel, raisins and a nutmeg richness, with cloves and anise. The smoke calms further. 

Finish: Long with lingering smoke and drying oaky spices.
