Deanston 12 Year Old 2009 Old Particular 48.4%

A wonderfully waxy, delightfully expressive and independently bottled Deanston! The Highland single malt distillery is celebrated for its almost-rubbery character thanks to its unusual distilling, and this lives up to expectation. It spent 12 years in a refill hogshead casks before being bottled for Douglas Laing’s Old Particular line. It’s bottled with no added colour or chill-filtration – which really adds to the mouthfeel!

Nose: Lots of toasty cereal notes, along with cut-grass freshness, apple, pecans and vanilla pods.

Palate: A waxy texture holds succulent fudge, butter and coconut notes, lifted by zesty orange and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Finish: Medium length with more fudge.
