Auchroisk Bourbon Finish Murray McDavid Cask Craft 44.5% ABV

A fascinating release here from independent bottler Murray McDavid. The expression is part of its Cask Craft collection of 44.5% ABV, no-age-statement, natural colour releases – and it makes use of an ex-bourbon quarter casks from the Koval distillery! The Speyside single malt is given a summery lift – one to snap up to enjoy as the days get warmer.

Tasting note:

Nose: Sweet and light, with refreshing grassy, citrus-led, even slightly herbal notes, wrapped up in vanilla.

Palate: Like biting into a green apple initially. Tropical fruits come through later, accompanied by honey and caramel. 

Finish: Medium length and almost popcorn-like.
