Ardmore 13 Year Old PX Sherry Cask Finish - Càrn Mòr - 45.5% ABV

A peated single malt from Highland distillery Ardmore that’s been given the Pedro Ximénez finishing treatment by independent bottler Càrn Mòr! The release is part of the Strictly Limited series, which promised no added colour or chill-filtration. Peat and PX are a delightful combination, and this expression is a great excuse to explore the pairing.

Nose: The wonderful savoury, bonfire smoke is softened with toffee, raisin, plum and cereal notes. There’s a nuttiness, too.

Palate: The nuttiness becomes more specifically almond on the palate, alongside milk chocolate, marmalade on toast, honey, and more of that gentle smoke.

Finish: Medium length with black pepper and Christmas spices.
