A rich, rounded expression from the northerly Old Pulteney Distillery, released by Taiwan-based independent bottler Whisky Age. The bottling forms part of the Whisky Age ‘Tainan 400’ series, which features labels by local artist Hong Fu-Tian. The specific cask details are not disclosed aside from ‘barrel’, with the whisky aged for 16 years.
Tasting note from Whisky Age:
Nose: Smooth and sweet citrus, apple fruitiness, a hint of melon sweetness, honey, nuts, vanilla, woody, cardamom and spices.
Palate: Rounded. Lemon peels, citrus, plums, nectar, cream, honey cakes, almonds, woody, cardamom and spices.
Finish: Medium. Bright cream aroma with hints of citrus, plums, syrup, nuts, woody, coconut, cardamom and spices.
