Dupont 30 Year Old Calvados 41% Vol
This Calvados is made using a mix of bittersweet and slightly acidic apples with a mix of 80/20% respectively, after fermentation the distillation takes place, this Calvados is double distilled but rather than at once it's done over around 6 months.
A perfect Calvados after a rich dinner.
Nose: A very rich sweet and fruity nose of vanilla and soft early season honey, sweet ripe apples, toasted oak but this is very subtle, spices, some springtime blossom floral notes, hints of candied orange and lemon peel.
Palate: Very smooth and extremely elegant, with a sweet glazed pastry, honey and caramel glazed apples, a rich and building mid palate delivery a smooth and intense range of superb flavours, some creamy vanilla and soft spices leafing to the nicely balanced finish.
