Dupont 12 Year Old Calvados 42% Vol - 70cl
This Calvados is made using a mix of bittersweet and slightly acidic apples with a mix of 80/20% respectively, after fermentation the distillation takes place, this Calvados is double distilled but rather than at once it's done over around 6 months.
Nose: Some toasted oak and cereal, soft vanilla pod and sweet apples, with a rich mid aroma of tangy fruit, some grounded coffee beans, hints of peach and some subtle candied lemon and orange peel.
Palate: Some tangy notes opening on the front of the palate, sweet and sour sweets, rich apples and honey flow into the mid palate, a nice balance between apples and spices have really pushed this calvados to deliver a nice balance across the palate.
One of those Calvados's that's perfect after dinner or with some handmade chocolates or to sit back and relax with.
