Del Maguey Santo Domingo 48% ABV

This mezcal started life on a steep hillside in the elevated mountain village of Santo Domingo Albarradas. Crafted from 100% Espadín agave, it’s been fermented and then twice-distilled in direct, wood-fired copper stills. Del Maguey is all about celebrating the village producers – or palenqueros – who craft each expression, and this bottling is no different.

Nose: Simultaneously lush and drying, there’s crunchy apples alongside citrus peel, and a dash of herbaceous shrubs.

Palate: The fruit becomes more tropical, with apricot and melon alongside a cooked pear note. An earthy pepper provides a grounding base.

Finish: Medium length, clean and dry, with more citrus peel.
