A beautiful single malt, and one that’s part of The Whiskymaker’s Editions from The Lakes Distillery. These one-off releases capture the sense of adventure of the whisky maker, offering a departure from the sherry cask-led house style. This one is inspired by the Silk Road, centring aromatic spice and woodfire notes.
Nose: Sweet and soft notes flow from the aroma, with wood spices starting to build alongside some crisp forest leaves and soft kiln smoke.
Palate: A heady mix of toffee and spices flood the palate, spices and exotic fruits mingle across the palate, a lingering rich and nicely complex dram that grows with each sip.
Finish: Medium length and delicate, with more exotic fruits and incense.
