Mac-Talla Flavourscapes Series: Flùran 53.8% ABV
A wonderful new Islay expression from independent bottlers Mac-Talla, focusing on the flavours of the island. The team brought on board artist Marzia Sileno (who used to work right here at Milroy’s of Soho!) to capture the complex notes that layer their way through the expression. One of two limited edition releases that kick off the Flavourscapes collection, Flùran is Scots Gaelic for 'blossom', and it is a floral, spring-like delight.
Tasting note:
Nose: Like the first rays of spring, there’s a citrussy floral nose with honeysuckle, jasmine, cut grass, and gentle coconut.
Palate: Soft campfire smoke arrives here, with more florals, grapefruit peel, milk chocolate, and orchard fruits
Finish: Medium length with a gentle subtlety.
