Lindores Friar John Cor Congregation Chapter 2 60.9% ABV
A follow-up to the widely celebrated sell-out Chapter One expression, Lindores Friar John Cor Congregation Chapter 2 has arrived. Just like its predecessor, it is named after the monk who is credited with overseeing Lindores Abbey’s first distillation run way back in 1494. What’s different this time is the cask make-up. Chapter 2 makes use of ex-bourbon casks, STR wine barriques, and even peated rum casks. It’s a riot of flavour – and very likely to follow in its predecessor’s footsteps and fly out the door. So don’t wait around!
Tasting note:
Nose: Initially sweet with dates, toffee apple, and poached hedgerow fruits backed by maple syrup before a gentle bonfire smoke drifts through.
Palate: The peat is more apparent now, along with banana bread, salted caramel, pecan nuts and milk chocolate.
Finish: Medium to long, drying into dusty cacao nibs.
