Glen Scotia 11 Year Old White Port Finish Festival Release 2023 54.7%

A fabulously exciting release here from Glen Scotia distillery – it’s the edition released to mark Campbeltown's annual Malts Festival! This year the team at Glen Scotia has played around with a white Port cask finish. Whisky that had spent 10 years in American oak by Campbeltown Harbour was transferred into the Port wood for an additional 12 months. The result shows how vertatile smoky single malt can be! Oh, and it’s non chill-filtered and bottled at natural strength and colour.

Tasting notes:

Nose: A bit like an old-school confectionery shop with added tropical fruit, green herbal notes, and a whisper of smoke.

Palate: More boiled sweets along with lemon meringue pie, fudge and pecan nuts. The smoke is more pronounced, but remains sweet.

Finish: Long with lingering cigar smoke and flowery sweets.
