A fascinating partnership here between indie bottler Càrn Mòr and Wasted Degrees Brewing Co. The latter sent their porter casks for the former to use in whisky maturation! The result is that Glen Ord’s typically sweet and spicy distillate takes on a richer, chocolatey character. Delightful!
Tasting note:
Nose: Remarkably orangey initially, before vanilla pods, Christmas spices and rich dark chocolate arrive.
Palate: Big and bold, with apricots and macadamia nuts coming through alongside ground coffee and powdery cocoa nibs.
Finish: Long with more gentle seasonal spices.
