Chateau Laubade Bas-Armagnac 35 Year Old 1989 Milroy's Vintage Reserve 59.1% 70cl

A stunning bottling from celebrated Armagnac maker Chateau de Laubade. The 105-acre, family-owned estate is located in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, and dates back to the 1870s. Today run by a trio of siblings – Denis, Jeanne and Arnaud – Chateau de Laubade crafts extraordinary Armagnacs with a deep commitment to environmental practices. This beautifully aged Vintage Reserve release is the perfect showcase of the delicate complexity, intricately detailed, thoroughly delicious house style.

Tasting notes:

Nose: A delicate note opens with dusty florals, candied fruits, pecans, and magnolia, before deeper pine resin, nutmeg and cumin notes arrive. With time, liquorice, marshmallow, tobacco box, and earl grey tea elements emerge.

Palate: Simultaneously gorgeously rich and delicately ethereal, the perfumed palate incorporates florals alongside chocolate soufflé and macaron notes. Cream soda, cardamom, and even a juicy melon note come through over time.

Finish: Medium in length, with lingering earthy, oaky with tobacco leaf notes.
