The wine merchant turned whisky bottler, DH Global Spirits have selected an amazing line of single cask bottlings as part of their Connoisseurs Dram series. This 12-year-old Caol Ila was matured in a first-fill oloroso sherry cask and bottled at 56.2% ABV.
Nose: Rich, earthy peat smoke balanced by sticky dates and honey.
Palate: More dried fruit in the form of raisins, dates and dried cherries. Peat smoke carried through with a slight liquorice note.
Finish: Big and bold all the way through.
