The renowned annual blend from Booker's returns, and this bottling is known as The Lumberyard Batch. As always, it follows a precise recipe breakdown (listed below for the curious), with barrels pulled just ahead of the Kentucky Derby. There's rich vanilla, toasted oak, and a mouthwatering sweetness in with the robust mouthfeel. It's named in honour of Booker Noe, who worked in a lumberyard before becoming a distiller.
Nose: Rich and fruity with a lot of toasted toffee and oak notes, with the vanilla and spice aroma we love from a good Bourbon.
Palate: Mouth-coating and superbly rich flavours flow across the front of the palate, with a sweet Demerara sugar, a rather tempting toffee and crushed almond note, some dates and hints of milk and dark chocolate, the finish of spices and vanilla seems to linger so perfectly on the palate right to the very end of this fantastic bourbon.
Finish: More of those soft spices, and a toasted oak note that lingers on and on.
