A fabulously matured Benriach single malt Scotch whisky that’s been independently bottled by drinks merchant Berry Bros & Rudd. The spirit flowed from the still back in 2010 and was finished in an ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. An outturn of 668 bottles were released at natural colour and without chill-filtration. At 60.7% ABV it’s a robust dram, and it’s all the more delicious for it.
Tasting note:
Nose: A classic PX sherry nose with an abundance of Christmas spices, dried fruits, and nutty milk chocolate.
Palate: Rich and mouth-filling, there’s honey, croissants, fresh ginger, marmalade on toast, and a syrupy nuttiness.
Finish: Long with marzipan and drying spices.
