The classic Royal Lochnagar 12 years old has always been a staple of any good whisky collection, this bottling from the 1990's would be a great side by side tasting bottle with today's releases.
Nose: Toffee and almond, pear drops and soft lemon and lime notes, with a touch of light toasted oak, white chocolate, some cut oak, ripe apple and baking spices.
Palate: Sweet and mellow notes on the front of the palate, some toasted brown farmhouse bread, shortbread and delicate spices, some drying notes with a touch of sandalwood, more citrus and mild creamy notes.
