A fascinating Craigellachie single malt Scotch here from independent bottlers Càrn Mòr. The Speyside distillery is known for its bold, sulphurous spirit. It’s savoury, it’s characterful. And we get to see a new side of it here with a Guyana rum finish! Expect a delightful balance of sweet and earthy, all wrapped up in a rich, mouth-filling texture. Just 1,358 bottles have been made available in Càrn Mòr’s Strictly Limited range. And just like others in the line-up it’s non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
Nose: Surprisingly honeyed on the outset, with an earthy rubberiness, toasted pine nuts, and rich, dark fruits.
Palate: Oily and viscous, the palate brings more fruit, caramel, burnt toast, sesame seeds and cumin spice.
Finish: Long and meandering with more of those drying spices.
