A bright, breezy, beautiful 39-year-old Speyside blended malt from luxury whisky bottler House of Hazelwood. Drawn from the stocks held by the Gordon family, the people behind William Grant & Sons, this is an extraordinarily fresh release for its age. It started life back in the early 1980s, and, as the name suggests, is like sumptuous liquid sunshine. Only 398 bottles have been released.
Tasting note:
Nose: Gloriously juicy pineapple, apricots, crisp green apple, gentle cereal notes, mango and a soft pepperiness.
Palate: Grassier and maltier on the palate but still tropical fruit-forward. Coconut and decadent dessert notes arrive ahead of a subtle distant barbeque smoke.
Finish: Cereally with a fruit sweetness.
