A delightful single malt from Diageo’s [comparatively] small Royal Lochnagar single malt Scotch distillery in the Highlands. This expression is a blend of American oak and European refill cask liquid, bottled specially for the 2021 Special Releases collection. It’s a lively and characterful edition from the lesser-spotted distillery.
Tasting note:
Nose: Like a traditional bakery, there are notes of croissants, brioche buns, icing sugar, toffee, and apple sauce.
Palate: Creamy with a smattering of chilli spice before more baked goods, vanilla custard, cut grass and ice cream wafer come through.
Finish: Medium length with gentle nutmeg spice.
