A vibrant Canadian whisky, aged for a total of ten years, including a finishing period in rum barrels. Pike Creek has previously used Port casks, so this is an interesting one to explore. Canadian whisky is increasingly in the spotlight these days, and bottlings like this showcase just why.
Tasting note:
Nose: Initially soft and gentle, building into an expressive blend of nuts, dried fruits, honey, and a rye-like whisper of menthol.
Palate: Mouth-coating and round, there’s toffee, pecan, cinnamon cubes, subtle florals and brown sugar cubes.
Finish: Toasty sweet oak lingers on.
