Old Rhosdhu 28 Year Old Bonnie Banks And The Call Of The Past 48.6%

A fun one here from the Brave New Spirits team and their Cask Noir series: Old Rhosdhu 28 Year Old Bonnie Banks and the Call of the Past. It was distilled at the Loch Lomond distillery, and its name harks back to Old Rhosdhu malt which was made there until around the year 2000. This is from an ex-bourbon hogshead and it's been bottled at its natural cask strength and colour.

Tasting note:

Nose: There’s a real savoury quality, with a menthol-type note, pencil shavings and wet paint lifted with orange peel, hay and a splash of lime juice.

Palate: Much more malty than the nose, with granola, cornflake and rice crispy notes, along with a milk chocolate and crunchy fresh apples.

Finish: Medium length with more apple and pencil shavings.
