The very first whisky from Edinburgh’s Holyrood Distillery is here! Arrival is the inaugural whisky from the pioneering team behind the urban maker. It's made using malt from Crisp Maltings, and then fermented with two different yeast strains for 104 hours. The whisky then matured in an array of casks: Oloroso butts, Pedro Ximénez hogsheads, Bourbon barrels and rum barriques. It’s youthful and vibrant with a deliciously distinct funk – in short, a remarkable debut from the experimental distillery.
Official tasting note:
Nose: Dried fruit, tropical fruit, raisins, hint of butterscotch, fresh baked cake, sticky toffee pudding, soft leather, biscuit.
Palate: Toffee, caramel, vanilla, digestive biscuits, ginger spice, butterscotch, tablet, slight savoury salinity, raisins.
Finish: Long lasting, mouth-watering, juicy, sweet spice, delicate, fruity, spice, apple pie, red fruit.
