Glenlossie 13 Year Old The Curious Sister 54.1% ABV

Another wonderful Cask Noir bottling from the team at Brave New Spirits! And this one celebrates sherry. Distilled in December 2008, it was matured in a single first-fill Amontillado Sherry barrique! Fast forward to July 2022 and it was bottled up at its 54.1% ABV natural cask strength at natural colour. Glenlossie is a lesser-seen Speyside distillery (sister to Mannochmore!), and it’s wonderful to have the chance to taste it here.

Tasting note:

Nose: Croissants and buttered crumpets, with marzipan, Christmas cake, liquorice and gentle nutmeg.

Palate: More fruit comes through, specially dates, plums and dried orange. There’s black pepper and a drying woodiness, too.

Finish: Medium length with more dark fruit and almond.
