A beautiful, delicate and delightfully smooth expression from Speyside distillery The Glenlivet. Founder’s Reserve was created to celebrate George Smith, the man who set up the whisky-maker back in 1824. It’s been aged in ‘traditional’ oak and American first-fill barrels, and it’s brimming with the signature estery, floral Glenlivet character.
Nose: Sweet and round, the nose opens with dried fruits before magnolia florals, apricot, orange zest, raisins and milk chocolate arrive.
Palate: A fresh pear note stands out, alongside star anise, banoffee pie, orange peel, cinnamon, and sweet pastries.
Finish: Medium length with lingering soft spices.
