It’s here! The 2025 Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition bottling is officially in the warehouse. The much-loved annual release is one of the most anticipated in the bourbon calendar, and this year’s recipe is particularly special. Crafted from three bourbon recipes filled into just four barrels and aged for between 13 and 19 years, it’s remarkable indeed. Want to get super geeky? The 2025 edition sees the standard Four Roses Single Barrel high-rye mash bill blended with another high-rye whiskey made with a different yeast strain, and a lower-rye recipe with the original yeast strain. The result is audaciously complex. There are notes of apricot, tea and sweet spices on the nose, with treacle tart, citrus and chocolate on the palate. Grab a bottle while you can.
