Moine (Scots Gaelic for 'peat') bottlings are not what we've come to expect from Bunnahabhain. An outlier on Islay for producing mainly unpeated whiskies, the rare peated Bunnahabhain expressions are a a real treat for smoke lovers. This particular release was bottled at cask strength, and and offers an array of flapjack, bacon and, of course, smoke. Characterful and expressive, it's right at home in our Soho Selection collection of more esoteric bottlings.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Hessian, tar, smoke and fresh sea air
Palate: Sweet and bold with smoked fish, chewy malt and smoky bacon.
Finish: Coal embers, smoke and peat.
