Blended Grain 14 Year Old Voodoo 58.3% 70cl

Independent bottler Brave New Spirits returns with this fascinating blended grain – a rather rare style of Scotch whisky. Mysteriously called ‘Coven of the Red Veil’, it’s a combination of North British and Cameronbridge whiskies, aged in both first-fill St-Emilion Grand Cru red wine casks and ex-sherry casks. After at least 14 years of maturation, it’s gained all manner of fruit compote, shortbread, orange zest, menthol and even basil notes. Delicious.

About Blended Grain

In recent years, independent bottlers have played an increasingly influential role in Scotch whisky, offering drinkers access to distinctive cask selections and alternative interpretations of well-known distillery styles. Among these fresher voices is Brave New Spirits, a Glasgow-based company founded by industry veterans with a clear focus on adventurous wood management and expressive flavour profiles. One of its most distinctive ranges is Whisky of Voodoo – a series of small-batch single malts and single grains designed to highlight unusual cask maturation and bold character. With evocative occult-themed labels and carefully selected casks sourced from around the world, the range captures both tradition and experimentation in modern Scotch whisky.
