Ardmore 14 Year Old 2010 Saltire #803063 48.8% 70cl

A fascinating take on this Highland single malt, which unusually produces using peated malt. Released by indie bottler Saltire, this expressions as distilled back in June 2010 and spent time maturing in an ex-Islay refill barrel –  packing in more of that smoke! Just 249 bottles have been released, bottled at a generous 48.8% ABV.

Tasting note from Saltire: Immediate impression of smoked fish, seaweed and peat smoke embracing lemon juice. Nice and fresh with unripe pineapple, stewed unspiced apple, boiled sweets and struck matches to boot. All supported by a light malty background. A smooth, well-balanced lovely dram.
