Adnams Distiller’s Choice Port Cask 64.3% ABV
Suffolk-based Admans occasionally releases spirits from its cellars under the Distiller’s Choice range. This is one of them! Head distiller John McCarthy found this single malt, a first-fill Port cask, and liked it so much he dedicated to bottle it. Just 271 have been made available so get in quick.
Tasting note:
Nose: Rich and toasty on the nose, there’s ripe hedgerow berries and bananas, along with caramel and pepper.
Palate: Butterscotch now, with an additional brown sugar sweetness, raisins and plums, lifted by sweet spices and black pepper.
Finish: Long with more pepper and a touch of cocoa powder.
