Something to give us a little more on the palate yet keeping the true footprint of Islay
Nose: Sweet coastal note, some fresh cut wood and maple smoked meats, tangy rich seaweed and spices with some melted toffee.
Palate: Smoke and peat roll across the palate, some balance arrives with a slightly oily sweet honey note, tangy spiced wok fried vegetables with sesame oil, root liquorice with ginger and vanilla pod, hints of pink pepper and delicate sweet salad caramel lead us to a truly coastal finish of sea spray and smoked fish.
With some undertones of fruits this dram is a nice surprise on the palate.
