About this whisky
Wee Mongrel Batch 2 is fully sherry cask matured, 18 years in Oloroso sherry wood, finished for 8-months in 2 Pedro Ximenez sherry hogsheads.
Nose: Deep dark rich fruits, hints of polished leather, some damson and strawberry, with a hint of dark chocolate and sweet dates, some spices and dried fruit, hints of sweet mincemeat, toasted almonds and toasted oak.
Palate: Sublime rich sherry cask notes flood the palate, with lots of dark fruit, hints of mulberry jam, ripe dates and dark red berries, with a rich all-spice and coca tone in the mid palate, with a little time in the glass some rich orchard fruit notes come into play.
A nice rich and complex dram that grows and changes on the palate.
