Tullibardine 4 Year Old 2016 Murray McDavid
What is this a young dram how can this be?? Well fist off you might want to give this a try because the woods used have made something taste incredibly good for such a young age. Matured in ex-bourbon casks before being moved into ex Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for the final 16 months in the casks.
Nose: An abundance of classic rich sherry notes obviously but so much more with a spiced vanilla and light golden honeycomb, hints of milk chocolate and sweet spices with a little nuttiness.
Palate: A very rich opening to the palate, honey nut cereal bars and dates, some tangy orange zest with a hint of cinnamon and wholemeal bread, toasted nuts with a hint of creamy coconut, a final flourish of orange and spice in a lingering smooth vanilla and almond note add to the very enjoyable finish of this unique single malt.
