Distilled in the the final year of the distillery ahead of closing in 1983 this is a dram from the days of whisky history during the prolonged downturn of the 1980's to late 1990's 

Nose: Sherry Cask influence flows from the moment you open this bottle, with a sweet citrus and dried apricots, a warming smoke comes into play as this dram opens in the glass. 

Palate: Incredibly rich with some smooth notes that take the palate on a taste journey, citrus and soft spiced honey coated fruit cakes, some sweet oak and a little soft and very enjoyable smoke marries together with a return of citrus flavours of creamy lemon and nectarines, the peat we expect from a good Port Ellen is here through out the dram, the integration of flavours with this dram is second to none.
