An intriguing single cask bottling here from rum brand Plantation. Distilled in Panama, this molasses-based expression has been maturing in an array of casks. Initially it spent 11 years in bourbon casks in the Tropics, before undertaking two years of continental ageing in Ferrand Cognac casks. Finally it rounded off its ageing with over a year in a New York Distilling Company rye barrel. There’s a lot of flavour here, and it’s all delicious. 

Tasting notes:

Nose: Vibrant with fruit and sweet spices, along with profound nuttiness: almond, hazelnut and nougat.

Palate: Round and rich, it’s consistent with the nose with more pronounced fig, orange and chocolatey fudge. 

Finish: Long and lingering, drying into sweet spices.
