Mortlach 30 Year Old - Midnight Malt - 49.1% - 70cl

Matured in Refill American oak & European oak casks before being split into 3 casks to add a deep complexity, Calvados, Bordeaux wine cask and Guatemalan rum casks

Nose: A very rich and complex yet mellow nose, some dark fruit tones, dark chocolate and pepper at times, definitely herbal, some barbeque meats and hints of oak cask balsamic vinegar, dark berries and soft vanilla. 

Palate: The palate has the influence of the casks running through, from deep red wine notes, spices and dark honey add a very nice mid note, some fresh mint and chocolate are definitely here as the official note indicate, warming sweet spices flow across the finish, some rich fruit cake and soft crushed almond, sweet and peppery in the lingering finish.
