Maclean's Nose Blended Scotch 46% 70cl
A beautifully balanced release from the team at Adelphi, released to celebrate the producer’s chief nose, whisky writer and expert, Charles Maclean. The expression is made using 70% malt, with a “high proportion” matured in sherry casks. It’s gorgeously round, rich and coastal, with a very subtle industrial smoke note.
Tasting note:
Nose: Citrus peels lift a roadwork-like tar nose, with peach, pencil shavings and a gentle milk chocolate also coming through.
Palate: A continuation of the nose, the creamy texture holds caramel, vanilla, pecan nut and freshly cut grass notes, backed by that drifting smoke.
Finish: Medium length with the earthy smoke lingering on.
