The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 years old is created from a trinity of spirits, matured individually in European sherry seasoned oak casks, American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed in the same casks for 12 years - after which this complex combination of casks is exquisitely and expertly married together to create this vibrant single malt.
A single malt that has become a symbol of quality and luxury in the world.
Nose: Complex, with hints of vanilla, melon and lemon zest. A creamy smooth note arrives with the dram as it rests in the glass, some light honey and subtle ginger, some white chocolate and lemon cream.
Palate: Medium balanced with lemon citrus, vanilla and light toasted oak and nutmeg. Lingering with melon, papaya, fresh oak and oak spice, a smooth rich creamy balance along side those sweet spices make this palate perfect for fans of the Macallan and speyside.
