Mac-Talla Flavourscapes Series: Fogharach 54.2% ABV

One of two inaugural releases in independent bottler Mac-Talla's new series, Flavourscapes. Each release celebrates the character of Islay whiskies explored in visual form. Artist Marzia Sileno (who used to work with us here at Milroy’s of Soho) tasted the expression and put her skills to good use designing the label. The idea is to be led by the colours, liveliness of the label and the mood of the art, rather than any cask descriptors. ‘Fogharach’ is Scots Gaelic for ‘autumn’ and this is a seasonal treat indeed.

Tasting note:

Nose: Bursting with hedgerow berries, orchard fruit and distant bonfire notes, this is like a harvest time morning in a tasting glass.

Palate: The peat is a little more forward here along with baked fruits, almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg and an oakiness.

Finish: Medium length with lingering smoke and sweet spices.
