Farm-to-cask Scotch distillery Lochlea is back with a new single malt – it’s second annual release of the seasonal Harvest Edition. Matured in Tawny and Ruby Port casks, STR barriques and first-fill bourbon barrels, the expression brings a lively tweak to the producer’s house style – and it’s a delicious development.
Tasting note:
Nose: Immediately unctuous with dried dark fruits, marmalade on toast and cinnamon notes, wrapped up in a little vanilla.
Palate: The creamy richness continues with raisins and dates, milk chocolate and gentle spices, topped off with a sprinkle of black pepper.
Finish: Medium length with lingering chocolate creaminess.
