Loch Lomond 22 Year Old 151st Open Course Collection Royal Liverpool 48.2% ABV
Loch Lomond Distillery has a long-running partnership with The Open golf tournament, and to mark this year’s 151st edition it’s released something very special indeed. Made with predominantly unpeated organic barley, this 22 year old American oak-matured expression is a combination of spirit from both straight-neck and traditional swan neck pot stills. It’s presented at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour. A flavoursome celebration of the iconic sporting event.
Tasting note:
Nose: Fresh and fruit-forward, with melon, nectarine and honeysuckle bedded in among stem ginger and an aromatic zestiness.
Palate: Pineapple and grapefruit continue the fruit theme, before rich caramel and a toasted oak come through.
Finish: Long and lingering, with a gentle ginger warmth.
