Kilkerran 12 Year Old 46% Campbeltown Single Malt
Kilkerran is distilled at Glengyle, the first new distillery in Campbeltown for decades, and uses stills originally built for Ben Wyvis. Run by J&A Mitchell of Springbank, this is a lightly peated whisky. It is a classic Campbelltown dram: peaty, oily and salty. However, its lemon meringue and butterscotch profile distinguish it from Springbank and Glen Scotia.
Nose: Deliciously tempting, some ripe pears and peaches, some gentle woody notes with toffee and a hint of ginger.
Palate: Silky rich mouth coating at the start with a creamy vanilla and salted caramel, honey and a warming soft smoke note mix into this dram so well you can tell its a classic Campbelltown made with care.
